I've always enjoyed how slalom is so organic and site specific. It's hardly a discipline that needs be reigned in by artificial constraints. Lay down your tape measures, close your eyes and take the first step beyond........ [ This Message was edited by: Rick Stanziale on 2003-03-25 06...

For it is just like a man about to go on a journey, who called his own slaves and entrusted his possessions to them. To one he gave five talents, to another, two, and to another, one, each according to his own ability; and he went on his journey. Immediately the one who had received the five talents...

Wesley, I hear the same thing from the "used to skate" crowd. But don't forget I've got two kids and they are as much an inspiration to continue skateboarding as that undefinable desire that burns deep with inside all of us. Gilmour, I don't think it's possible to go back and envision skateboarding ...

We can agree to disagree. Snowboarding/Longboarding sure......but where are the other racers coming from? The allure of slalom can be it's relative quick learning curve (as opposed to kickflip tricks). Ninety percent of those kids will never excel in tech trick oriented skateboarding. I believe long...

700,000? 699,642 of which don't skate anymore I'd feel pretty confident in saying that 90% of the racers in the 35-50 demographic have been flushed out via the internet. If you've never skated vert, you can't relate - but the definition of skateboarding will always feature roundwall, racing will be ...

Jack, Pardon the pun but, I'm takin' it to the streets! Brian, I couldn't agree more about setting courses outside local skateparks. They've been doing it in Colorado for some time now. And you're right, Hackett is crossing over, more power to him (us)! Bickering, infighting? No thanks, I'm almost 4...

I can't help but believe we have to look beyond just course setting and consider equipment. If we are honestly interested about racing skateboards in the street, we've got to be able to encourage kids to "race what they brung" (i.e. kickflip boards). Sure the slalom scene has grown exponentially ove...

I took several shots of the proposed location for the Georgia race this year and placed them online. Looking uphill Looking downhill (includes a 6' tall man walking on the ...

7 foot digits or 7 inch??!!??

I Photoshop'ed a rough .jpg diagram if anyone out there is interested.

The Trakmate is outstanding in terms of price, function, ease of use, and availability.
