Sadly, but true, Face Dancer's lead singer Carey Kress, who lived in Gaithersburg passed away on Tax Day 2009(4/15) and today, a longtime friend of mine, skateboarder Chris Cowtown Renner passed away......both these guys died from pancreatic cancer. Yup, Curt did defect to higher altitudes....in secret training w/LBK, but on snow! I did have a few beers w/the wild Badlander back in Feb after hiking & shooting the chutes @ The Boat. There will be 4 MASS contests this year and he isn back east for each one!

I was @ the P-n-R yesterday and it needs a good clean-up.....w/a blower and the area where we always used to set courses has a 5 ft wide swath of spilled oil or burnt rubber going down the length of the course....we may be able to skate to the right of this but the sun will have to bleach this clean...

Yea, I'm wiped out too and I didn't even skate those events. My voice is getting better after emceeing the TS at The Worlds.The DHBs and Statesville's Worlds was awesome....all the racers were great. Whilst skating at Greenbelt skatepark I was talking to someone who was watching us skate. During a break we talked about skateboarding and he said he used to slalom in the early 70s. Turns out he is Bill Cornett, 53 yrs old.....skated for Caravan Skate Team and then Comp Pro or something like that.....

Seeking shelter from the wind...

Yo Mike, Indeed, seeking shelter from the wind is a must....going into the woods in fresh pow up to your ribs is what I did this week in Colo...to dodge the minus 30 windchills. I found some nice ravines to slalom around the trees too....sweet sensation! Hopefully, I'll skate w/you and the others so...
