ISSA

The first I hear from ISSA is from an email asking for money. I see no discussion on NCDSA and I see the same narrow minded regulars in this forum who have little or no impact in slalom skateboarding. I skate regularly with some of the worlds top racing pros. Some of whom are business owners and hav...

Slalom Racings Future?

Jani, I think it would be in the ISSA's best interest to completely toss out the initial implemented ideas, voting allocations etc....Open a forum on NCDSA and/or possibly even a neutral site and ASK QUESTIONS. don't assume you and your investors list know best. Don't even assume skaters know to com...

Slalom deserves better.

Jani, You are clueless. No idea what it takes to bring skateboarders together. The world ranking is thought of as a joke by almost every top US competitor and you think by offering skaters the opportunity to buy votes that will make a difference? You admit not even having a plan for the money yet, b...

spanking for the ranking

Corky said; Racing with pros or ams are only different when running head to head or if the courses differ between the two classes. When pros and ams race the same courses it is for me the same thing. Happens often when running GS courses. Also qualification runs before head to head can be used for ...

etienne de bary.... don't waste your time or effort...you have missed the point completely. Corky has decided to rank all the world slalom racers without starting an organization, communicating and building a system with integrity and accuracy. He has looked to only a few skaters for some advise and...

Spank the Rank

"The reason I'm so high in the ranking is not so much depending on me racing good but more on many pro's not racing enough. I love how you think you have earned the right to be ranked above a Pro when you don't even race in the Pro Class. You have not raced Kenny Mollica, Chicken, Charlie Ransom, S...

Spank the Rank

hey Kooky, ummmm ever hear of a Contest Calendar?.....Online sign up sheet?.....I don't go to races with one pro signed up. I make my decisions based off of who is racing and if I have the time and money to travel. Picking three out of ten events and ranking them ahead of time only contributes to yo...

How come an Am rider can be higher ranked than a Pro rider? It is possible because the Am points table overlap the Pro points table a little bit. To simplify it, if you are in top 3 you may get more points than some of the lower placed Pro's. Let's take an example. Noah Heinle has been racing as Am...

skank the rank

The initial ranking of each racer (voting) would be only to start. After one season and based off of results then you could fairly determine each racers postion in their country. Additional ranking points (rewards) would be given to those to travel abroad, thus increasing their personal "value"

Kooky, Your euro lovers can rank each other by disiplines. Ts Hybrid, Gs etc..The same goes for the US. When there is a TS at West LA and someone highly ranked in the TS disipline such as Steve Evans races or John G, or Chicken, Ritchy etc..The TS race would have a total value based off of those ran...

dear god, please allow kooky corky to see the light

Jack Smith can win Cambria by a second with no other competitors show to give him a race. But Paul Dunn, Chicken, Hackett, Attila etc........... can race JPL and the talent at that race has no impact on it's ranking? Only a what you and your clown posse determine what is a prime or major event (prio...

World JOKer

Corky, Your Euro lovers are not complaining because they know that there are only a handful that can really be compeititive in the Pro/Am divisions on steep grades. So whatever thier placings are I'm sure they are creaming thier tight euro jeans over it and not going to stir the pot fearing their ta...

John, Regarding the surfing ranking system. There is more than one competitive surfing association. I surfed in different west coast series over the years, but never qualified for the elite top 44 who surf competitive at world wide locations. To reach that level you have to qualify in a smaller yet ...

Censorship

Jani, You have just stepped way out of line censoring my posts. For the sake of "generations to come" you should leave it in. Your weak ideals of what is right or pleasant to you is not in our futures best interest. Your idea of a "Tidy" forum is only YOUR Opinion. NCDSA has made an absolulte joke o...

Racer Ranking

Since I'm on a rambling roll. Let me please just mention this opinion or idea of mine that I beleive would have been a better start to the ranking mess Corky has started. Put every Am and Pro racer seperated in thier categories on a list. Next to each racers name allow the appropriate space to rank ...

Combining Ams with Pros is completely wrong. Gilmour made some very good points. From my experience I have never seen Ams combined in points with Pros. I have competed in both skateboarding and surfing in Pro/Am events where I was given the chance to measure my talent against others. A good example ...

Ams ranking versus Pro ranking?

Corky, You are ranking ams higher than pros based on their times and placing? Numbers cannot be denied. But the circumstances when racing against someone like Steve Olson and Chicken who are the fastest starters out of a gate change dramatically. No disrespect to an am racer but if you put him up ag...

World Ranking

I support the idea of a ranking system. I support the good intentions. I do not agree with the formula and especially printing it in a publication when it is as subjective as it is. I am not the only skater who believes it is a joke and completely inaccurate. I have spoke with numerous slalom skateb...

Wacked World Ranking

The world rankings serve no purpose if they cannot be accurate. I skate with some of the fastest slalom racers in the world and I can tell you that not one of them believes Corky is even close to accurate. When you have the majority of professional slalom racers saying that the rankings are wrong th...
