A professional researcher lives deep within me. It feeds on analysis, observations and predictions. I'm happy when I'm wrong. Because it's borring to be right all the time. I can "read" you a lecture on PINK in the US and world culture. Instead, save some time and see the best selling movie of all t...

How funny. If you move this drama to Random Topics, it'll get more attention. WV independent timing worked well and many people seemed to like it. The DC timer has this option. All that's missing is an extra pressure strip. There's probably no interest, as the current system works well. TK, it's the...
Depends on the model. Anthony and I buy Vans at Ross at $14.99 a pair usually. Some of them are just right, yet others seem to be 1/2 size smaller. Since these are strickly slalom shoes, smaller doesn't hurt much. Smaller Vans feel better on the board. I have 5 brand new pairs. 2 of them are smaller...

Gaithersburg, MD. May 2, 2004. After clocking 3 fastest times of the day, the 32-inch Insect longboard was disqualified for its 27-inch wheelbase. So, if anyone wants an Insect longboard for a race, go with the 36-inch one. It should be enough to fit the DC 30-inch wheelbase and the 36-inch length r...

Today’s “Collective Effort with the PSR backbone” Longboard Slalom course was faster and more open then last year. More speed. More space to pump. KMG hybrid was fun. It brought out the best in the young and the younger Canadians. PSR “GS” was very tech. Too bad there didn’t seem to be enough intere...

Gathering IV, May 2004.
The Gathering (and PreGathering) rules for timed races were: Friday night (the “Motel 6” Outlaw race). Single lane 50-cone hybrid/tight slalom on the P&R hill used for most of the DC SL Outlaw races. 0.1-second cone penalty. 8 cones = DQ. Jam format. Three timed runs to be declared apriori. The rest...

I had a good time in LA. The Pink Theme I got from Olson at Breck last year. He was wearing his Black Leather Racing shirt...but it was his pink shirt (the one that he's pictured in a full body carve in the current issue of the Juice Mag) is the killer that got me thinking PINK. oLsOn don't know abo...

Here's the same board (as in the very board Roe built and overnighted to Jackson) in DC after the MS action.
Works good with Seismics.
The "Bunny" is there (on all my boards) for JG.

Not so good turn out this time. I overslept, sorry. But!.. We had tons of fun when Frank and Brittany showed up!
Slappy set a soopper TS - like 4 ft on center - course and we skated it twice or something like that before hitting the Irish pub nearby.
See you at the Gathering!

The hill is fast! We never skate anything like that. I'll get a pair of (real) TS trucks and learn to wiggle before going back here. It was certainly worth the trip! It was a big "small-scale" race. The vibes were good. Sorry to disappoint anyone in DC with my placement. Andy, Ohm was faster then me...

Thanks Andy. I'll do my best. This is a night time race and from our Walker Ln experiences night-time = plus 0.3-0.5 seconds on a sub 7-second 40-cones at 6 ft course. Plus, this is a big hill, not Walker Ln. I've already broken 6 seconds on 30 6 ft cones on flat when practicing French Cyber at RFK....
