If the park fits 25 cones at 6 ft and enough run-in&out, the organizer adheres to the CyberSlalom course standards, the floor is good enough to skate on without sliding, sufficient time is given for practice, and there're more then two attempts to run the course in both directions, I'm interested. M...

I'll try to post pistures by the end of the week. The course was fun. The first 4-5 cones were tightish widish gates that demanded a lot of attention and the cost of fcking up in those gates was full seconds. It was followed by a pumping section of about 10 cones, and a nice long finish section (ove...

Yes, it's true, Slappy is on drugs. And they are not prescription drugs. The 1919 shoulddahappen it in 1994, then we wouldn't have the 2005. Bad for the US and Canada, good for other countries. Some of their stars are playing back home along with the US players. I'm sure Slappy's watching when he's ...

People miss and look for you...makes you feel special... I injured my ankle multiple times, and it's been over a month of passive recovery without any sports activity. If it doesn't heal within a day or two, I'll never catch Luca and will probably have my foot amputated...coz what is it good f...

you feel like a fetus? Yep. A fetus. 16 weeks in... Compared to those who celerbrate their 30 years of skating that is! If you started skating after 1986, you might feel like an embryo (a life form 8 weeks and under). And if you were born after 1986.... http://images8.fotki.com/v155/photos/5/53745/...

Great! I'm asking this for Elena Sinodalova (who I'm sure will be bummed to hear about 5 meter parallel Sl and who would most likely want to compete in the men's Pro class @ 1.8 meters). Foot-dragging or runout? (again, some concerned comrades from the flatland slalom country would like to know) Bun...

There's a huge difference between 3.1s and 3.2s (with my current set-up). Three twos-fives can be done clean time after time. Three ones can't. Three zero = at least 4-5 hit cones. I tried Grippins and 60 mm of truck width between the inner lips of the wheels. More roll, more speed, less precision. ...

Luca wasn't winning races on softer cambered boards when he had to use them. He made a switch to a longer and softer board this year to adapt to the modern slalom courses that are too wide and too much offset for a stiff deck. The Logan Shape is still mass-produced in the Republic of Belarus . The b...

One slalom competition is ran with a 1-cone-down=DQ rule, another competition uses a 6-cones-down = no-time-penalty rule, yet another comp has a different #of cones DQ/time penalty ratios. It's a mess. Maybe the new ISSA guidelines can specify a range of time penalties and # or cone DQs? It is up to...

Let the courses determine the optimal size wheels. Almost no one rides Cambrias anymore even though they are significantly faster then Avalons on 5-to-6-cones-per-second courses. No one sets courses like that, so the wheels are not needed. If 100-200mm wheels win "slalom" races it's not the wheels f...

6 Cones per Second Challenge
Is it possible? Anyone's done it?
After reading Korten's article in the 5th issue of Slalom! I've done 20 cones x 5.5 ft on a mellow hill at 3.41 sec. Korten's done it on flat ground, coming down a hill. His record is 3.5 seconds. It's not 6 cones per second.

I remember reading some discussions of Variable Cone Spacing in linear slalom. Some early Slalom! issues? Makes sense on steeper hills, no?
