Broken Kingpin

Virtually, one year to the day, I broke another front truck kingpin in my radikal over the weekend, running some cones at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. I snapped my carbon-fiber fiberglass turner (only cutway that existed) earlier this summer and hearing another "SNAP" I thought I did it again,...

Turner repair ????

Hi Kids..I have a quick question to the people who might know. Over the weekend, my carbon-fiberglass cutaway turner cracked/delaminated along the side near the tail, in front of the truck, where all of the weight bearing stress is located. Can this be repaired by using fiberglass cloth along the ed...

Surf Music Extravaganza 4: Big Wave Season

Not really slalom related...but I wanted to let everyone in the SF Bay Area know about this show in San Francisco. My surf music band, the Reefriders, is hosting Surf Music Extravaganza 4 at Milk Bar at 1840 Haight Street/Stanyan in San Francisco on January 31, 2010 at 3p. Hope to see everyone there...

Broken Radikal Kingpin

I just broke a kingpin in my front Radikal truck over the weekend. I was on my regular hill on Conservatory Drive in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco and luckily, I was able keep mostly upright as I came off as I was not going too fast. So hopefully, Keith and the Radikal guys can help me out. Bruce

Thanks for the quick response..I do think there should be a DQ if you knock over too many cones. How many is up for the officials to decide (5 cones, 8 cones, 10 cones ???, depending on how many total cones are set in the course). For example, you could hit 15 cones (1.5 sec penalty) by going straig...

Jani, after reading the rules I noticed that there appears to be no DQ penalty for hitting too many cones in any of the three disciplines, just a 0.1 time penalty. Also, if I read the list of DQ's, putting a foot down, or footbraking to slow down in a critical section would be a DQ. Do I read these ...

Talking to Ritchie in SF, he had also experimented with Avalon fronts and Cambria back combo (before the intro of the Avilla's).
