Re: swapping baseplates
for TS, how would an RTS hanger work on a dart/sixtrack baseplate, provided i swap out the kingpin with a grade8? the thing i like with the dart plate is the cast-in bushing seat, as opposed to the flat washer that comes on the RTS. also, what is the advantage of having the washer instead of a cast...

the only technical cone specification i've seen for ISSA standard of slalom cones is 140mm diameter. are there any other dimensions? height, weight, etc? i'm just curious because i want to know if the cups i bought at walmart for slalom are suitable substitutes for ISSA-legal cones. mods, feel free ...

finding a good spot
well, i got this little problem...namely, i don't know how to find/set up a good slalom spot. there's a parking garage nearby, which would be excellent for a TS setup, except for the fact that it's patrolled by cops all the time. also, there's a park with a one-way street running through it that wou...

a friend of mine was out sliding a few nights ago...he was using oust abec3 bearings, spacers, speedrings, the works. anyway, he pulled one slide and his front, heelside wheel came completely off. he couldn't find the 2 bearings, the speedrings, the spacer, or the axle nut. anything he can do about ...

i voted "suspend" simply because i know how easy it is to slide out a skateboard, namely a slalom rig. i was skating my pavel around one day, just cruising around campus; not pushing the board at all...i hit a wet spot, the back end slid out, and i nearly ate it. even just a small wet spot could inc...

i've been told once or twice to not switch to manx, but i was never given a distinct reason why Perhaps the person who gave the advice didn't feel like losing against you in a competition? If they win pro races throughout the world I guess they can't be to slow. Right? do you know the width of manx...

cold, wintery slalom...and wheels?
i am DYING to try out more slalom and stuff, but it's cold here (talking like 24F, -6C)...plus the roads, while dry, are slightly salty. i've searched around a bit and learned about dressing properly, cleaning loose salt off, and making sure the course isn't wet so, would it be feasible to set up a ...

we gotta have more small-time races like what mangels is doing...i know that for me at least, his race is the nearest one to michigan (yes, my location makes it easier to get to wisconsin than to detroit). gotta start small with grassroots/outlaw events to get the people involved, then those that do...
