Seems like I am harder in my opinion than the actual ISSA rules that says... "A racer is disqualified if he touches the ground with a foot between the start and the finish line." So the first post in this topic asking weather it is ok to use hands to give a slight push in the end. Well, according to...

I prefer to make it simple. Any part of body touching ground between start line and finish line is DQ. For those who want to put their hand on the ground in a really wide super G-turn has just to keep hands off. For me the surface between start and finish line are holy ground. That's why I never lik...

I just saw that I forgot to mention in my Morro Story that Claude Reigner was the main factor for making my trip to Morro Bay a success. Since I couldn't skate I was really depressed and if it hadn't been for him helping me out with driving the car, fixing somewhere to stay and talk about the good o...

Wes, When I say I like the idea with some cones penalizing more than 0.1 sec I don't go as far as you. I see a maximum of 1 or 2 cones per course with this extra penalty, not more. Otherwise it gets to complicated. I like the idea though to be able to register exactly which cones each skater knocked...

If a cone is assigned a high value....then that judgement call is lost Judgement is not lost. It's just a different judgement. Ideally it looks great if cones are not hit and racers run clean. To make this happen is simple, make the first cone cone struck a DQ- Like in cyberslalom Yes, it looks gre...

I'm almost finished with my little story from the World Championships in Morro Bay. Only the A F T E R - S K A T E left. I was there but didn't skate. Did a lot of filming instead.
Here is a link to the Morro Story. Scroll down a bit and you'll see it.

I think it's a good idea to have a head judge. The cone judges are normally not enough qualified to be able to see if skaters DQ or not. But with a 80 cone course it would still be pretty difficult. One head judge per course would be good. Organizer could also make sure that all runs are recorded (f...

Sam, thanks for your encouragement. My result was not important for me or the history books. It's just that my initial goal was to make top ten and there is 68 hundreds of a second up to that place. I'm not for a cone limit. I’m all for giving a bonus for clean runs as I am punishing those harder who take lots of cones. But DQ? No. It's enough with the embarrassment. I think some of the cone problem in Morro was also that there where one course for everyone. A pro normally can handle a big vari...

I'll say it again. What made Ridoli go from good to one of the best was the gym. This has two advantages. The most obvious is that you get stronger. The second is that when getting stronger you can practice efficiently more often and during longer sessions. So if you have the determination and the t...
