I tried to Criddle a cone while racing in La Costa II and missed the damn thing, DQing myself for the day.

[FCR 2003] La Costa Open 2003

I talked to Dennis Shufeldt (LC 2002) at the last event and both he and I agreed that this event takes so much time that the hosting should really be handed off to a new person each year. Both of us came up with Steve (and Brigg) Sherman for this year. I know it's putting a guy on the spot but with ...

There's no question that these forums were responsible for most of the slalom rebirth. Keep in mind, with misuse and bickering, they could also be the death of slalom. Keep it clean boys na girls, leave your ego in the living room (except Arab, of course) and keep learning.

Really good question. BTW, I knew Atilla was that slow all along. Yeah right. I agree with TK, run one big fat qualifying round and then split the boys and girls into two groups of 32 or 16 (if the field is light). Just like LC1. A-Pro Points could be twice B-Pro points. Qualify for the B group and ...

Is racing Chicken fun? My theroy on racing him one on one is to already have your bag packed up first. That way, when he takes you out, your gear is already cleaned up, you can kick back and enjoy the rest of the day as a spectator.

Remember how we split up the classes at the first La Costa race? Timed runs. Instead of the current Pro/Open structure, we presented A Pro and B Pro. Is there anything to the overall distance of the 100 man march? I mean, would it be faster at 6.5 feet or even 7ft? There is probably some distance between cones that allow for the fastest A to Z time. Understanding and respecting JG's International 1.7 meter cone setting.

To me, Slalom Skateboarding is more of a participant sport than a spectator sport. We leave no wake or spray trail and the "flow factor" is very hard to capture on film. Extreme. Not.
